FACTS ABOUT ASH HARDWOOD FLOORING INSTALLATION
- When buyin glue for a direct trowel gluing to the subfloor, use a mastic type adhesive. This type of glue is typical for installation on concrete, but can be used on wood subfloors as well.
- For Floating Board Installs, a glue together method is most common. Glue is applied to the side and end joints of each plank or strip. Boards are then tapped together into place to minimize movement. A cushioned underlayment is required for all floating floors a with the exception of cork planks. Cushiong give the affect of hardwood sound and insulation when installed.
- For Click Loc Systems- a snap sound method usually indicates a proper fit upon installaion for all glue less, or no glue floating floors.
- Staple/Nail methods are used only where wood subfloors are present. Fasteners are nailed or stapled into the tongue portion of the side joint only. This may requires special hardwood flooring tools that can be rented or bought.
- Staple installs with the help of pneumatic tools may take longer but insure a proper fit for centuries to come.

NOTE: Always follow individual manufacturer specifications and their procedures for installing any hardwood or engineered floor.
